DF64 Angled Base + RDT Tool

from $30.00

After many requests, and loads of product testing and tweaking, the DF64 Tilted/Angled Base is here! This base is tilted at an 8 degree angle and in our testing has yielded 0g - 0.1g retention consistently!

In addition to the angled base, we wanted to add additional capability to the grinder so we added 4 rubber feet to the bottom of the base which greatly reduces the sound of the grinder! (By reducing the resonance of the counter it sits on)

You also have the option of adding a very sleek glass RDT bottle to your order which we see as an essential to optimal function of this grinder. By using the RDT (Ross Droplet Technique) you will see a huge decrease in static and have an overall cleaner workflow.

---------

Results & Findings:

- When switching from Filter to Espresso grind setting, you will still see high retention (1-2g) immediately. But after about 1-2 shots, you'll be back in the low retention realm. This is just the unfortunate drawback to using flat burr grinders.

- You will still need to push down the grinds that hang out around the grind chamber if you want a true 0g retention. This is a workflow that we are all used to at this point with this grinder so it shouldn't be any surprise here.

- When utilizing this angled base, we also noticed a better declumping experience too. We still recommend using a WDT Tool, (we have a few in the shop) but the grounds came out fluffy and ready to be brewed!

All products are made from the highest quality Biodegradable Polymers in the industry. These are required to produce such tight toleranced parts. Feel at ease buying with confidence in an engineering grade design with quality control methodologies in place to eliminate defects.
